Genshin Impact is getting a PS5 version, adding settings unique to the next-gen hardware that better utilize the PS5 technology.
miHoYo made the announcement via a new trailer, showing all the new characters that had since been added to the game via its various updates. Naturally, there wouldn’t be any disparity between the PS4 and PS5 versions content-wise, and events will still follow the regular scheduling.
While the PS5 version of Genshin Impact has been announced, they haven’t settled on a release date. Instead, the trailer only says the next-gen update is coming soon.
“The PlayStation®5 is an ideal platform to enhance the vast open world featuring in Genshin Impact, allowing the team to incorporate more thoughts and ideas into the game, both now and in the future,” said Forrest Liu, President of miHoYo. “That’s why we’ve been working to bring the native PlayStation®5 version of the game to our players as soon as we could.”
It’s not like fans who’d already owned a PS5 have had to go back to their own console to play the game, since the game’s been playable via Backwards Compatibility, where players get access to better load times thanks to the SSD. However, miHoYo says that the PS5 native version will include improved textures, as well as 4K support.
However, no mention was made if it would use any of the DualSense’s unique features, such as haptic feedback or adaptive triggers.
