Ahead of the global launch for Genshin Impact, the open beta / OBT is live in China, with in-app purchases live and data not deleted. Players will be required to have a valid China ID and phone number in order to access should you intend to try. It is also currently only available for PC players in the region.
Going by the official news post, the gacha rates are the same as the last closed beta, and you can read our starting primer about your minimum odds to acquire the featured character, among other things. Players who have access to the Genshin Impact OBT are showing that even though the test is currently only limited to China, the English UI, among other languages, are already in place, so if you are able to play it early, you can enjoy it in full Japanese voice over if you so wish as well.
Some events are already running, like a Beginner’s Wish banner that has a 20% discount for a maximum of 20 pulls in total. 4-star Noelle is guaranteed for the first 10 pull in this banner, while the second 10 pull will guarantee at least a 4-star character.
The rest of the world will need to wait for 28 September – PS4 players can purchase a pack to pre-load on 26 September – which is a couple of weeks away still. We’re almost there, so stay tuned!
