Genshin Impact will launch the upcoming 5.6 update, with a new additional Archon Quest chapter that will return players back to Mondstadt, a new seasonal event set in Fontaine, and two new playable characters.
Mainline Chapter Overview
In the latest Archon Quest Interlude, players return to Mondstadt for the Windblume Festival, only for celebrations to sour when an unexpected trial puts Albedo at the center of a growing crisis. Teaming up with Venti, the Knights of Favonius, new allies like Dahlia, and Lady Alice of the Hexenzirkel, Travelers are thrust into a thrilling investigation.

As threats escalate beyond the courtroom, monsters begin invading Mondstadt. In a key negotiation, Travelers must undergo a magical trial set by Lady Alice to secure her aid. This trial introduces a new Weekly Boss Challenge, featuring a dramatic chessboard battle against the King and Queen, where players must master the board’s secrets to triumph.

Seasonal Event
Fontaine welcomes a brand-new management event: Chevalmarin Film Fantasyland.

Players join Navia and other familiar faces from Fontaine and Natlan to run an amusement park, managing attractions like Eclectic Escapades, Movie Masterpieces, and Mellow Manor. Upgrading facilities, training staff, and smart use of Action Points will maximize profits and unlock rewards, including the exclusive 4-star bow, Sequence of Solitude.

New Playable Characters
Escoffier
A 5-star Cryo polearm wielder and former head chef of Hotel Debord, combines culinary skills with combat prowess. Her abilities summon a Cooking Mek to deal Cryo DMG, heal allies, and lower enemy resistances, especially powerful when teamed with Hydro or Cryo allies.

Ifa
A 4-star Anemo catalyst user from Natlan’s Flower-Feather Clan. Fighting alongside his Qucusaurus companion, Cacucu, Ifa specializes in healing, controlling enemies with wind currents, and boosting Swirl and Electro-Charged DMG through Nightsoul Points. His instincts also let him automatically heal allies when their HP dips too low.

In Version 5.6’s Event Wishes, Escoffier, Navia, and Ifa will feature in the first phase, with Kinich and Raiden Shogun arriving later. This update also revives the Chronicled Wish event, offering a selection of 5-star characters from Inazuma.
Version 5.6 will set its debut on May 7 with all its thrilling updates to come soon. Genshin Impact is available to play across all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android and iOS.
