Genshin Impact is currently set for an Autumn 2020 launch, according to this announcement on miHoYo’s website. The post also mentions an appearance at ChinaJoy alongside TapTap, which may be to announce an actual date (but who knows). The game is also celebrating a 3,000,000 pre-registration milestone, with gifts for players when an open beta launches. We would assume that the open beta will allow progress to carry over, but before we speculate too much, we’ll wait on for the official announcement.
The current final closed beta for the game does not have an end date at present, with the FAQ stating “its duration will be decided based on player progress”. PS4 players for the first time are able to cross-play with the existing PC and mobile platform players with this closed beta.
With the autumn 2020 window for Genshin Impact, we can expect it anytime around September to November at the earliest. We are also still waiting on news regarding the Nintendo Switch release which has yet to receive concrete details besides the initial announcement. If you haven’t checked it out already, we wrote about our closed beta impressions from the March session so that you know what to expect going into the game.
