Genshin Impact continues to dominate the Twitter Gaming trends in the first half of 2022, a time period which itself has broken the record in conversation volume. The Twitter blog reports approximately 1.5 billion tweets in the first half, resulting in a 36% increase of tweets on gaming year-over-year. Genshin Impact keeps its Twitter Gaming trends crown following from an earlier report this year, wherein the game basked in users’ attention alongside Elden Ring and Wordle.
The top 10 list of most tweeted games are:
- Genshin Impact
- Wordle
- Ensemble Stars!
- Final Fantasy
- Project Sekai Colorful Stage
- Apex Legends
- Elden Ring
- Fate Grand/Order
- VALORANT
- The Legend of Zelda
All things considered, it’s pretty unsurprising to see the results:
- Genshin Impact has social media integrated web events
- Wordle is part of the results string
- Ensemble Stars! fairly recently launched an English localized version of their rhythm game in Music allowing more eyes on a previously Japan-exclusive franchise
- Final Fantasy is likely a result from XIV and people asking for XVII news, not discounting the other games
- Project Sekai likewise has a global release and Vocaloid never dies
- Apex Legends also had its mobile release to reach more people
- Elden Ring is pretty much Fromsoft’s most successful game yet
- Fate Grand/Order remains a juggernaut in gacha gaming
- VALORANT as a successful Riot Games’ property
- Last but not least, people are still waiting for Breath of the Wild‘s sequel
It would be interesting to see how much the list might shift in the next half of 2022, but don’t be too shocked if it hasn’t changed all that much. Let’s see how things go.
