MiHoYo has announced that their own cloud gaming platform for Genshin Impact is currently up for beta.
Cloud gaming basically allows you to play a game without having you download the game’s full size. However, do note that in exchange, the game’s performance will be entirely reliant on your internet speed so make sure you have that part covered.
The Cloud version is currently limited to the CN server and you’ll need a CN account to even log into the game. It also runs through a paid service, requiring you to pay to play the game past its daily 15-minutes free period.
If you want more details about the payment system, you can read it through here.
There is currently no news on whether the cloud version will come to global or not but assuming from the game’s popularity, it could happen some time in the future once it comes out of beta.
For reference, here are the listed minimum specifications to run the cloud version on the miHoYo platform:
- OS: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit | Windows 8.1 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3
- Memory: 4GB RAM
- Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750
- DirectX: Version 9
Outside of miHoYo’s cloud platform, there is already a cloud version of Genshin Impact available on GeForce Now. Unlike the miHoYo platform, free members of GeForce Now can play for an unlimited amount of 1-hour sessions.
