A recent free-to-play open world RPG was released this April 3, promptly titled Youxing Continent. From the start of its release, the game has received a lot of mixed reviews from a few players who were curious about what the game had to give.
However, what is the most noticeable about this peculiar game is the distinct and almost eerily similar contents it has to HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact.

Based on the poorly translated description of the game on Steam, Youxing Continent is a MMO based open world game where players can engage in PvP or PvE scenarios with a co-op mode for friends and a gacha system in which players can pull unique and exciting characters.

There are games with a similar concept but each have their own unique differences. They each possess a charm to the game that pulls many people in, wanting to figure out more than what reviews have to offer. However, what Youxing Continent lacks in originality, charm and creativity is also the blatant fact that it is very clearly a clone of Genshin Impact in its entirety.

From a gameplay point of view, Genshin Impact is known for its action-based battle system which allows players to freely move their characters on screen to work out the best advantage they have in battle. Youxing Continent rips that system out completely with no means to give it its own personal flair. The game uses the slash and hack combat system that is similar to Genshin as well as its character bursts. Areas in the game are exactly how the area of Mondstadt appears in Genshin Impact, from caverns all the way to its greenest hills. Menu screens are also similar to Genshin and the UI is filled with buttons that leaves very minimal space for the player to move the character around.
As for artwork, the character design is another similar rip off from Genshin Impact, stripping away elements of the character slightly and only adding changes in color and hair.

For those who are interested, Youxing Continent is available on Steam and mobile on Android for CN. The Steam version of the game is available in Chinese only with an English translation still in progress.
