The gaming industry is growing at a tremendous rate and it’s still growing as we speak! With the gaming industry rising up fast in the global market, you could actually find opportunities in Malaysia or Singapore to be a part of the industry. Metronomik

Metronomik is our very own Malaysian game developing company that was raised by Wan Hazmer. He was a former employee from Square Enix, Japan, as one of the Lead Game Designer in Business Division 2 for Final Fantasy XV. After leaving Square Enix, he came back to Malaysia to start his own company named Metronomik in Komune, Bangsar South, last year.

On our last interview with him, we got some insights on the game their developing which is looking real good. Slightly after our interview with him, Metronomik had posted a list of positions on their official Facebook page that they are looking to be part of their team. VOICE ACTORS

• We’re gonna have an audition soon!
• Looking for people who can role-play with a Malaysian accent but can still speak perfect English (no Manglish slang words, think Captain Philippa Georgiou)

3D CHARACTER MODELER

• Works well with stylized characters
• Minimum of 2 years of game development experience as an artist specializing in Maya, Photoshop, Zbrush and has worked with a game engine (Unreal preferred)

3D ANIMATOR

• Works well with stylized character/environment animations
• Minimum of 2 years of game development experience as an artist specializing in Maya and who has worked with a game engine (Unreal preferred)

RIGGER

• Works well with stylized characters & environment
• Minimum of 2 years of game development experience and has worked with a game engine (Unreal preferred)

VFX ARTIST

• Able to transform VJ motion graphics into in-game VFX
• Minimum of 2 years of game development experience as an artist specializing in Houdini or any similar software, and has worked with a game engine (Unreal preferred)

LIGHTING ARTIST

• Has an uncanny knack of mimicking lighting depicted in a concept art into a real-time 3D environment
• Minimum of 2 years of game development experience and has worked with a game engine (Unreal preferred)

Magnus Games

Magnus Games is a Malaysian indie game developing company that is well known for their upcoming game, Re:Legend that had fans all around the globe supporting it on the Kickstarter program. Apart from being the most crown-funded game in South East Asia for 2017, they also signed with Digital Bros through its subsidiary 505 Games – making them the first Malaysian game company to sign with the Italian game publisher.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia

Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia is one of the largest game developing companies which is no stranger to us if you are an avid gamer or into the gaming industry. LOCALISATION TRANSLATOR

As a Localisation Translator you will be tasked to handle translation duties during your regular office hours at our premises for the stated contract period. Throughout your duties you may be required to conduct research and propose recommendation in a timely manner. You will be expected to work closely with the localization manager on the project until completion.

• Japanese language proficiency with JLPT N1
• Good command in English Language
• Familiarity with Anime, Manga, game or BANDAI NAMCO franchise knowledge

Eliphant (Organizer for GameStart)

Eliphant is the organizer for GameStart Asia. If you don’t know already, GameStart Asia is South East Asia’s premier gaming convention and is currently expanding their scope and operations to include BEast of the East eSports circuit as well as South East Asia Major – one of Asia’s largest fighting game tournaments. As the company continues to grow, they are looking to play an active role in growing and supporting the gaming industry across multiple genres which also includes game development, knowledge sharing, marketing, eSports, community building and event management.
