In a landmark development for the Southeast Asian gaming scene, gamescom asia and Thailand Game Show have announced a strategic merger that will create the region’s largest gaming event. The unified event, titled “gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show,” is set to debut in Bangkok from October 16-19, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

This partnership marks a significant shift for gamescom asia,which will move from Singapore to Bangkok after four successful editions since its 2021 launch. The most recent gamescom asia attracted over 40,000 attendees from 78 countries and featured 177 exhibitors.
Meanwhile, Thailand Game Show brings its impressive 18-year legacy to the table. The 2024 edition drew more than 185,000 visitors and 50 exhibitors, demonstrating the massive appeal of gaming events in Thailand. Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and VP of Asia Pacific at Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, called the partnership “a game-changer for the region’s games industry,” highlighting Bangkok’s vibrant gaming community as the perfect setting for this expansion.

Pongsuk Hiranprueck, Founder of Thailand Game Show, emphasized the significance for Thailand’s gaming industry: “This historic collaboration presents tremendous opportunities for gamers and developers in Thailand, marking a significant leap forward for our gaming industry.”
The event will feature a comprehensive structure including:
- A dedicated business area for industry professionals
- Industry gaming conference sessions led by experts
- An entertainment zone showcasing AAA titles, indie games, esports tournaments, cosplay events, and exclusive live experiences

The collaboration receives strategic support from Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) and the Thailand Game Software Industry Association (TGA), underlining the governmental backing for this initiative.
