Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the release date for Tekken 8, alongside the game’s multiplayer hub and multiple new characters.
In a trailer shown at gamescom, they confirmed that Tekken 8 would release on January 26th, 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer says the game will be available for pre order from August 22nd, as of writing the Bandai Namco Entertainment website has not been updated with the new information.
They also announced several returning characters, such as Steve, Leo, Shaheen, Dragunov and Yoshimitsu, as well as featuring Kuma in a later portion of the trailer.
Aside from that, they’ve also revealed more information about the other features coming to the game, such as the multiplayer hub and character customization.
Similar to Street Fighter 6’s Battle Hub, Tekken 8 will feature customizable avatars to represent players as they look for fights online in a new mode called Acade Quest.
Based on the footage, it looks like Arcade Quest would even have built-in tools for hosting your own tournaments, online.
Tekken characters themselves will also be customizable, with the trailer even going so far as to show Asuka and Lili swapping outfits with each other.
Characters like Kazuya and Paul will also have their classic outfits, with Kazuya’s pants as well as Paul’s original hairstyle returning as options.
