[gamescom 2023] RTS Game Stormgate From Ex-Starcraft Devs Reveals the Infernal Host Faction

Frost Giant Studios, a company comprised of former Blizzard developers revealed the Infernal Host faction for their RTS title, Stormgate at Gamescom 2023.

As part of the Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2023, Stormgate took on the stage to share more information for their upcoming real-time strategy game, Stormgate, specifically highlighting the Infernal Host faction.

Infernal Host

Infernal Host is the second confirmed playable faction for the asymmetrical real-time strategy game, Stormgate, after the previously revealed Human Resistance.

The faction is said to have a unique mechanic of Shroud, the ability to cover the environment with dark magic to bolster their armies’ strength.

The lowest-tier units are known as the Imps, who serve as resource workers but still possess the strength to overwhelm foes despite their weak appearance.

Frost Giant Studios also revealed 2 other units that are part of the Infernal Host faction, the Brutes, and the Fiends, however, not much information was given about them.

The Infernal Host faction is described to be able to even sacrifice their units to gain advantage and emerge victorious.

Soundtrack

Aside from a new faction reveal, Frost Giant Studios also talked briefly about the making of the game’s soundtrack, announcing that they are working together with American DJ duo, The Chainsmokers.

Frank Klepacki, known for his work on the Command & Conquer series, was also brought in as one of the composers for Stormgate.

In addition, Frost Giant Studios also mentioned that there will be more information about the game coming this year, including the reveal of the voice actors for Stormgate’s co-op campaign.
