Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced Little Nightmares III, developed by Supermassive Games.
In an announcement trailer, they revealed the biggest new feature coming to the title: co-op for the game’s two protagonists Low and Alone.
On top of that, they’ve confirmed the game will release in 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One and PC.
Supermassive Games have also confirmed that Little Nightmares III will still be playable in single player, with an AI controlling the character you don’t choose to help you solve puzzles.
From the trailer, it looks like the co-op puzzles will require active participation from both characters, with sequences having both characters needing to jump on to switches to activate them.
This is similar to Little Nightmares II, which had the AI-controlled Six helping Mono in some areas of the game.
They’ve also confirmed the setting for the game as a place called The Spiral- with Low and Alone having to traverse it to escape.
Meanwhile, the PlayStation blog also confirms the area shown off in the trailer as being called the Necropolis, with the giant Monster Baby stalking Low and Alone throughout their time there.
Additionally, Bandai Namco Entertainment have also announced a Little Nightmares podcast- expanding the lore of the games and its nightmarish dimension called Nowhere.
