During the livestream of gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live, the release date for Diablo IV second season, Season of Blood is set for 17th October 2023.
Diablo IV Season of Blood introduces Erys, voiced by Gemma Chan, who is a seasoned Vampire Hunter and will be leading the effort against a deadly new evil threat that looms over Sanctuary.
Season two of Diablo IV will also be featuring a handful of content such as a new Questline for players to uncover, Vampiric Powers to wield against their originators. Additionally, 5 endgame bosses with the ability to target specific Unique and Uber Unique items as a drop will also be added in.

A variety of community-requested quality-of-life updates will also be introduced in Season of Blood. Updates such as:
- More efficient Inventory management for Gems.
- Paragon Points, Skill Points, Potion Charges, and Obol capacity upgrades will now carry over into a new Season once achieved with an Eternal or previous Seasonal Realm character.
- Changes to the functionality of status effects such as Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage and also Elemental Resistances.
The updates listed above, as well as the ability to target specific Unique and Ultra Unique items as a drop will be available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.
