With just weeks away from E3 2018 that’s happening on Jun 12th to Jun 14th at Los Angeles, California, we are already peeling our eyes out on the leaks. One recent leak that was supposed to be a slip-up by Walmart Canada, has shown us plenty of games that were up for pre-order. However, the matter of whether they are true are in question here, as E3 being the largest entertainment event is where the hopes and dreams of every gamers pile on.
Here’s a list of expected games to appear in E3 below:
- The Last of Us 2
- Spider-Man
- Days Gone
- Death Stranding
- Rage 2
- Halo 6 (unconfirmed)
- Forza Horizon 4
- Anthem
- Gears of War
- Fall Out 76
- Battlefield 5
- The Division 2
- Beyond Good & Evil 2
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- Splinter Cell (unconfirmed)
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- Just Cause 4
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake (unconfirmed)
- Borderlands 3
Most of the games listed above like The Last of Us 2, Spider-Man, Death Stranding, The Division 2, Shadow of the Tomb Rider and more are games that are confirmed to be games that will be released. However games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake which hit quite the blunder when SE had to “remake” from scratch disposing what Cygames had done for them. Then there’s also Gears of War which was rumored to have a “Battle Royale” mode for the Xbox and PC.
There are more games leaked in the Walmart Canada list which may not the best reliable source. However games such as Rage 2 that was part of it was pretty much justified by Bethesda when they hilariously mocked its own Rage 2 leak on its official Rage 2 Twitter.
While Borderlands 3 was also anticipated at this coming’s E3, Gearbox Software has been awfully quiet with their teasing lately. However one Tweet from Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software, left us wondering if he’s playing psychological mind games when he said “Borderlands 3 will not be at E3”. But don’t take that sentence as it is. Read the Tweet for the TLDR context of it.
While the rest of the games like Halo 6, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Splinter Cell are unconfirmed because their secrets were kept really well. However looking at the three-year pattern of Halo games being released between Halo 4 (2012) and Halo 5 (2015), a surprise from Microsoft on Halo 6 could just happen this year in 2018. With Final Fantasy 7 Remake that hit a blunder with Cygames previously, it’s also possible that we get to see some progress of the game so far. And finally, Splinter Cell could also be expected as Sam Fisher was seen around in The Division. Maybe we’ll see more of him in The Division 2 or Splinter Cell itself, who knows?
Let’s keep our fingers crossed, shall we? 😀
