Gamers Hideout is looking to expand into the so-called metaverse, announcing a partnership with Playcoin Asia to launch LEETGuild. LEETGuild is meant to be the first blockchain gaming guild where gamers can experience exclusive support online and offline, metaverse and the real world. Members of the guild will be adopting play-to-earn games “through education, training, and expert advice (online services)”, and enjoy membership rewards and discounts on gaming equipment as offline services.
Eddy Yap, CEO of Gamers Hideout, is quoted as saying the partnership with Playcoin Asia will be leading their existing gaming community, customers and new gamers into an innovative chapter of gaming. LEETGuild looks to posit itself to be a starting point of entry into the whole blockchain business, acknowledging it can be costly to start. The announcement closes off with a link to register for a crowd funding Zoom pitching session. The gaming store chain established an investment page through Mystartr, offering various tiers of shares and additional rewards for those who decide to do so.
The thing about the blockchain is that many developers and fans alike look to have little to no interest in them, with concerns about scams and environmental impact abound. Whether this can work out, we’ll have to see.
