If you’ve been around the Play Store or App Store looking for new games to get into, you’ve probably heard of pre-registration rewards. Free-to-play mobile game developers love showering players with rewards, after all.
One such mobile game which released last week was Dislyte which made waves amongst the gacha gaming community. For one, it’s not your typical Japanese waifu collector—it’s made by Lilith Games, the makers of AFK Arena and Rise of Kingdoms. There was hype leading to its release, but on the game’s global launch day, there were pockets of criticism here and there.
Chief amongst the criticism were two different but vaguely related issues—pre-registration rewards and rerolling. Pre-registration rewards should be self-explanatory, but if you aren’t familiar, rerolling is the act of repeatedly making the first 10 pull of a gacha game until one is satisfied before they actually begin to play the game proper.
Dislyte‘s handling of these two issues immediately resulted in scrutiny from gacha game regulars. If you’re keen to find out what’s the hoo-ha behind Dislyte‘s launch, feel free to give our newsletter issue for this week a read. You can do so for free by putting your email address in the box below.
