Pokemon Day, February 27th is historic day for Pokemon fans, but in 2022, it was also the same case for its biggest competitor, Digimon. Both franchises had major live streams on the same day. Pokemon had Pokemon Presents. As for Digimon, it held its first-ever global online event, Digimon Con.
In this week’s issue of the GamerBraves Newsletter, we won’t be debating which franchise is better. Instead, we’ll be looking at how both of them conducted their live streams. Fun fact: both franchises trended on Twitter that same day.
Pokemon Presents was a short and informative 14 minute live stream detailing updates to the franchise’s video games and even made headlines with the announcement and reveal of the 9th Generation of mainline Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Digimon Con lasted for 6 hours and covered almost every corner of Digimon products and services, namely video games, anime, TCG, Vital Bracelet and products such as model kits.
Both franchises, while similar in nature, adopted very different approaches to their respective live streams, catering to the desires of their audience. If you’re keen to find out how Pokemon and Digimon marketed their stuff in their live streams, sign up to our newsletter with your email below:
