For a Vtuber fan, there’s few worse days than graduation. No, we’re not talking about getting your doctorate, we’re talking about the day your favorite anime girl decides to hang up their virtual cape.
Unlike physical idols who will continue to exist, a Vtuber’s graduation is pretty permanent. Considering the character is owned by whatever label they usually debut under, this will generally mean you won’t ever see them again. I remember my own experience with this, being one of the many who saw Kiryu Coco’s final livestream. It’s a weirdly harrowing effect, once you realize those Vtubers aren’t coming back.
That being said, it doesn’t have to be the end if you don’t want it it to be. For the Vtuber community, there’s a lot of ways they keep their love alive even if they’re not continuing activities in an official capacity. Here’s just a few of them.
