Do you yearn for the camera spotlight? Are you seeking to passionately tell legions of gamers your hot takes on the industry? What about expressing yourself through funny jump cuts and Vine boom sound effects?
GamerBraves is hiring interns for two positions: a Video Editor and a Host! We want to see fresh young talent light up the stage. This position is paid, so we encourage any and all interested parties from students to people wanting to break into the industry to try their hand and apply.
Naturally we will be prioritizing Malaysians aged over 18 with a good command of the English language, but aside from that we’re open to seeing your best shot at joining our team!
If that’s all you need to get you applying, send your application to hiring@gamerbraves [dot] com. Be sure to record a short sample of yourself presenting to really stand out, and include the GamerBraves Video Presenter in the subject line, as well as a full body photo!
For those who need a little more convincing, here’s what you need to know about the positions we’re hiring for:
Video Presenter Intern Job Description
As a host, it’s your job to represent Malaysia’s premier games news site delivering news, reviews and other entertaining content for our viewers. We want to see your charisma shine through, so don’t worry about things like not being able to do your own stunts and focus more on having the kind of personality that wins people over.
Being an intern, don’t worry about things like not having an encyclopedic knowledge of the games industry. This position includes on-site training, so you’ll be mentored by a team of experienced writers, presenters and video editors.
Similarly, we’ll expect some degree of social media savvy from prospective hires. After all, how do you make videos about what people are interested in if you don’t know what everyone’s talking about? You won’t need to show a profile with 1 million followers or the like, but some understanding of social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube or TikTok will be a huge help to your case.
Like we said earlier, interested applicants can drop us a line at hiring@gamerbraves [dot] com with a short sample and the subject line GamerBraves Video Presenter Intern. Be sure to include a 1 minute sample of you presenting, as well as a full-body photo.
Submission Guideline:
- Email [email protected] with subject line “GamerBraves Video Presenter Intern”
- Link to 1 minute video of you presenting any topic (preferably game related) (uploaded either via google drive or to YouTube, be sure access is set to Anyone)
- Sample photos of yourself (full-body)
- Your CV (Don’t worry about a lack of experience).
- Short introduction about yourself
Video Editor Intern Job Description
Interested in learning about producing videos in the competitive world of social media? As a Video Editor Intern, you’ll be required to bring a sense of fun and experimental approach to your work. You’ll be developing content for our various Social Media channels like TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.
Naturally, you’ll need to be familiar with editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, or their equivalents. Training will be provided as well, so just make sure you have a good attitude that’s open to criticism and learning new approaches.
It’s not just dragging files and cutting them, though- content ideation is just as important as production, so you’ll need a sharp sense of what’s popular on specific platforms and learn to pitch it effectively. You’re not just getting coffee- you’re part of the team.
Interested parties should submit an email to hiring@gamerbraves [dot] com with the subject line GamerBraves Video Editor Intern along with a link to samples of their work. If your videos are a group production, please remember to indicate which parts you specifically worked on.
