HBO’s TV series adaptation of The Last of Us video game will feature Bella Ramsey, Game of Thrones‘ Lyanna Mormont, as Ellie.
In the first The Last of Us game, Ellie is 14 years old. She becomes the main character of The Last of Us Part II at age 19. Bella Ramsey, who is currently a 17-year-old, definitely appears to fit within the comfortable age range to portray the teenaged protagonist.
Back in 2016, the actress won the hearts of fans with her role of Lyanna Mormont in Season 6 of Game of Thrones. Ramsey’s acting portrayed an air of brilliance for the child leader as she commanded respect from the adults around her. What made her performance even more remarkable was the fact that this was Ramsey’s first professional acting role.
In The Last of Us, Ellie’s performance was brought to life by Ashley Johnson, who voiced and motion-captured the character. Her father figure and fellow main character, Joel, was performed by Troy Baker.
The Last of Us, released back in 2013, was a smashing success, universally praised for its brilliant storytelling. Last year, Naughty Dog gave players its sequel, The Last of Us Part II, which won game of the year in The Game Awards 2020.
