2023 has seen a rise in games based on anime, with numerous titles such as Sword Art Online Last Recollection, Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Collections, Black Clover M making their mark this year, here are some of the titles that you can expect going into 2024.
One Punch Man World
One Punch Man World is an action game similar to titles such as Honkai Impact 3rd and Punishing Gray Raven, letting you play as a variety of iconic characters from the anime such as Saitama.
Characters can dodge, do combos as well as unleash powerful ultimate abilities, all while having their own unique mechanics for fighting off waves of enemies in a faithfully recreated world.
Additionally, the game will also be getting a SEA specific version handled by Perfect World which is now open for pre-registrations. However, the exact release date of this SEA version has yet to be announced.
One Punch Man World will be launching on 1st February 2024 for PC and mobile devices.
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash
Following the recent success of the anime’s second season, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is a 2 versus 2 fighting game where the player and their partner aim for the heights by mastering the Cursed Technique as either a Jujutsu Sorcerer or a Cursed Spirit.
Players will need to make the most out of the cursed techniques that each of the characters possesses and fight together in battle.
The game will also feature a vast roster for playable characters from the anime to choose from such as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushigoro, Satoru Gojo and more.
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 2nd February 2024.
Goblin Slayer Another Adventurer: Nightmare Feast
Developed by Apollosoft and Mebius comes Goblin Slayer Another Adventurer: Nightmare Feast, an upcoming Tactical RPG title, and the first ever console game for the series.
Featuring 2.5D graphics, Goblin Slayer Another Adventurer: Nightmare Feast will have players take note of the positioning of their units on the battlefield and make use of the terrain and attribute affinities.
The game will also be featuring an original story with brand new characters that weren’t in the light novels or anime.
Goblin Slayer Another Adventurer: Nightmare Feast will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PC on 29th February 2024.
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable as the name suggests is a VR game developed and published by Japan-based VR game studio UNIVRS.
In Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable, players are tasked with taking on missions as members of the Scout Regiment as they combine entirely free three-dimensional movement through the usage of their Omni-directional Mobility Gear with cross-range combat in order to fend off against the titans.
As players progress through the game, the difficulties of the battles will increase, so only those with determination and skills will be able to survive.
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable was originally slated for a Winter 2023 release, but it has been delayed to the latter half of 2024. The game will be launching for the Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is an upcoming sports role-playing game developed and published by Level-5.
The game is said to be divided into three modes, being Story Mode, Chronicle Mode, and Victory Road. The Story Mode will be focusing on Sasanami, a boy who can’t play soccer, but instead scouts for other players and eventually builds his own football team.
As of time of writing, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road has no exact release date aside from a 2024 release window for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Mobile devices, as well as PC.
