Friends features including Pokémon trading is arriving in Pokémon GO!

We have been waiting forever for the friend features to arrive in Pokémon GO since the mobile game is live, and now it is finally here! Starting from this week, Trainers will be able to connect with their real-life friends to send items or trade Pokémon!

A Trainer Code will be required so you could send someone a friend request. You may have a chance to receive a special gift when you spin a Photo Disc at a PokéStop or Gym now, where you can send them to a friend in your friend list (however you can’t open the gifts).

Along with some helpful items including an Egg that hatches an Alolan form of a Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region, a postcard showing where you picked up your Gift will be given inside the gift.

You can build up Friendship Level by sending gifts and participating in a raid or Gym battle with your friends, bonuses such as Attack bonus will be unlocked after a certain friendship level (activates when you and your friends play together). Trading Pokémon increases Friendship Level as well. All trades are powered by Stardust, you will earn bonus Candy by completing a trade too.

With friend features finally arriving in Pokémon GO, it is time to get out and explore the world with friends!
