If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I may be on a bus right now but I wish I was flying a plane”, you should consider picking up Flight Simulator 2D on Android or iOS devices.
As the name implies, the game is a 2D flight simulator, where you use the bottom half of your device’s screen to control the various switches of a plane while the top half shows you how your plane is flying.
The game’s developers, Tsouchlos Brothers, had the following to say about the game:
The simulation game is the first of its kind to include all the important elements of mainstream 3d flight simulators: true aerodynamics, dynamic weather system, wind/gust system, day and night cycle, system failures in combination with common 2d game elements: beautiful hand-drawn maps, custom aircraft textures and fun game mechanics.
It features different modifiers to make every flight different, such as passengers increasing weight or weather conditions forcing you to adjust how you fly.
The game comes with three different modes. These are a sandbox mode that just lets you live out your flying fantasies, changing up the rules as you wish so you can make the flight as challenging or stress-free as you want.
There’s also the Air Transport mode, where you’ll be transporting passengers between preset destinations. It’s more than just rules tacked on, though, as your plane will behave differently now that it’s got more weight on it.
Finally there’s the game’s landing challenge, which lets you engage in one of the most challenging parts of any flight sim. Here, you’ll need to make sure to skillfully land your plane, with the game grading you on your ability to keep the plane intact.
The game is free-to-play, but contains ads and also in-game purchases.
