The release of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has been dragging on for a while but we finally have some updates! The creator of Pokemon Go, Niantic, and WB Games recently shared the first look of the incoming augmented reality mobile game with new screenshots and videos. The game will launch sometime later this year. From the looks of it, it should be getting an official release date very soon.
Watch the teaser trailer here:
For the first time ever, you will be able to venture into the Wizarding World together with your friends. Of course, the game will feature content and characters from the Harry Potter series and Fantastic Beasts movies. You will start off as a new recruit of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, established by the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards. Your task is to investigate and contain The Calamity.
Like Pokemon Go, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has a map that lets you explore places at your own free will. The map will reveal magic traces that highlight the locations of magical Foundables. They can be found anywhere at various real-world locations such as banks, schools and much more. After collecting the Foundables, keep them safe and send them back to the Wizarding World. After that, you get to earn rewards that you can keep track of in the game Registry.
Most of the time, the Confoundable magic will be in your way so you will have to use spells to repel them. However, casting spells will consume your Spell Energy. You will have to head to Inns to collect food and drinks that can help you replenish. You can find them at Muggle locations around the world.
While exploring, you will also come across ingredients that you can use to brew potion. These ingredients can also be found on the map, depending on the time of the day, weather and surrounding environment, as well as the Greenhouses.
Also, you should keep an eye out for the Portmanteaus as you can use them to unlock Portkeys, allowing you to travel to iconic Wizarding World locations. Of course, you can engage yourself in real-time multiplayer battles in the game. Test your own combat skills against enemies by visiting the Fortresses. You should consider teaming up with your friends when a challenge gets too tough. Also, you can find rarer magical Foundables on Fortresses walls so make sure you pay a visit frequently.
For more information, you can visit their official site, Facebook Page, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channel. Pre-registration for Android is now available or you could just do it on their website. iOS users will have to wait and we will provide you with updates once there is any.
