The Risk and Reward banner for Fire Emblem Heroes is coming out tomorrow on the 9th August that features units dressed in thieves attire but with CYL 6 coming out around the corner, is it worth pulling for this banner?

Skillset
- Lofty Leaflet (Mt: 14, Rng: 2) Enables [Canto (Unit 3×3)]
Grants Spd+3. At start of combat, if foe’s HP ≥ 50%, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit during combat, deals damage = 15% of unit’s Spd, and also, if foe has bonuses, grants bonus to unit’s Atk/Spd/Def/Res and inflicts penalty on foe’s Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat = current bonus on each of foe’s stats. Calculates each stat bonus and penalty independently.
[Canto (Unit 3×3)]After an attack, Assist skill, or structure destruction, unit can move to a space within 3 rows and 3 columns centered on unit.
(Once per turn. Cannot attack or assist. After moving, if a skill that grants another action would be triggered (like with Galeforce), Canto will trigger after the granted action. Unit’s base movement has no effect on movement granted. Granted movement treated as Warp movement.)

Unit moves 1 space away from target ally. Ally moves to unit’s previous space.
- Atk/Spd Push 4
At start of combat, if unit’s HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+7, but after combat, if unit attacked, deals 5 damage to unit.
- Atk/Res Snag 3
If a movement Assist skill (like Reposition, Shove, Pivot, etc.) is used by unit or targets unit, inflicts Atk/Res-6 on nearest foes within 4 spaces of both unit and target through their next actions.
- Blue Feud 3
During combat, disables skills of all blue foes, excluding foe in combat. If in combat against a blue foe, disables skills of all foes, excluding foe in combat, and inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-4 on foe during combat.

Skillset
- Soothing Scent (Mt: 14, Rng: 2) Enables [Canto (Ally 2)]
Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). At start of combat, if unit’s HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit during combat, and also, if unit’s Spd > foe’s Spd, foe cannot counterattack. If unit’s HP ≥ 25% at start of combat and unit attacks, after combat, deals 10 damage to target and foes within 2 spaces of target.

After combat, inflicts Def/Res-7 on target and foes within 2 spaces of target through their next actions, grants Atk+6 to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit for 1 turn, and grants [Pathfinder] to unit for 1 turn.
Soothe: Rushing Dawn
Skillset
- Florid Knife+ (Mt: 12, Rng: 2) Enables [Canto (1)]
At start of combat, if foe’s HP ≥ 75%, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat. Effect: [Dagger 7]
- Harsh Command+ (Rng: 1)
Neutralizes target ally’s penalties (from skills like Panic, Threaten, etc.) and negative status effects (preventing counterattacks, restricting movement, etc.) that last through ally’s next action. Converts any penalties on target ally into bonuses.
- Swift Sparrow 2
If unit initiates combat, grants Atk/Spd+4 during combat.
- Atk/Def Rein 3
Inflicts Atk/Def-4 on foes within 2 spaces during combat.
Nina Kagero Duo: Shadowy Figures
Skillset
- Shadowy Quill (Mt: 14, Rng: 2) Enables [Canto (Recall)]
Grants Atk+3. If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, calculates damage using the lower of foe’s Def or Res, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit during combat, and deals damage = total of the greater between unit’s current bonus or foe’s current penalty to Atk/Spd/Def/Res. (Calculate each value independently. Excluding area-of-effect Specials.) Effect: [Dagger 7] [Canto (Recall)]
After an attack, Assist skill or structure destruction, unit can return to the space they moved from.

- Lethality (Cooldown: 4)
When Special triggers, treats foe’s Def/Res as if reduced by 75% during combat. Disables non-Special skills that “reduce damage by X%”.
- Atk/Spd Catch 4
At start of combat, if foe’s HP = 100% or if [Penalty] is active on foe, grants Atk/Spd+7 to unit during combat. At start of combat, if foe’s HP = 100% and [Penalty] is active on foe, grants an additional Atk/Spd+2 to unit during combat.
- Chill Def/Res 3
At start of turn, inflicts Def/Res-6 on foe on the enemy team with the highest Def+Res total and foes within 2 spaces of the foe through their next actions.
- C Feud 3
If in combat against colourless foe, disable skills of all foes, excluding foe in combat, and inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-4 on foe during combat. During combat, disables skills of all colourless foes, excluding foe in combat.
- Duo Skill
Unit can move 1 extra space. (That turn only. Does not stack.) If any foes are in cardinal directions of unit or [Penalty] is active on any foes, inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-7 and [Panic] on those foes.
Once used, Duo Skill cannot be activated again right away. At start of every third turn, if Duo Skill has already been used, unit can use Duo Skill again.
Verdict
With the inclusion of Canto for all of the units is certainly a neat addition to have with all the extra mobility options, as well as some pretty good fodder skills in terms of Lethality, Atk/Spd Push 4, it’s still hard to justify spending your orbs on this specific banner especially when there’s common counters to Canto like with Dream Mikoto’s weapon refine & Medeus having Canto Control, which makes it so that characters that proc Canto within 4 spaces of them will either have canto limited to 1 space for melee characters, or no canto at all for ranged ones.
Not to mention with Gatekeeper and Legendary Myrrh that has the Warp Bubble effect in their skills, which blocks teleporting effects like Wings of Mercy or having people go past with canto.
Along with the fact that the CYL 6 banner is coming out this month makes it even harder to want to spend orbs for the Risk and Reward banner even if the art is insanely good for all the units. But there is one silver lining for this banner is that it lasts for one month long so you can just do the free summon and late till the CYL hero’s skills and stats are announced so that you can determine whether or not you should pull for the banner.
