The demo for Final Fantasy XVI on PlayStation 5 will release today at 16:00 MYT. It can be downloaded from the PlayStation store.
Square Enix has also released an infographic showing what time the demo will be available across different regions.
There will be two sections to the Final Fantasy XVI Demo. The first will be the game’s opening prologue which will be about two and a half hours long. This will allow you to get acquainted with the world of the game and its main character Clive Rosfield. Square Enix has confirmed that the progress you make in the demo can be transferred to the main game upon purchase so you can continue where you left off.
Once you’ve completed the prologue, you will then unlock the Special Battle Mode. This is a two-hour-long segment more focused on the action-heavy gameplay. You will have to infiltrate a fort at night with Clive being supported by allies Torgal and Cid and you’ll also have the chance to face a number of enemies and bosses and test out a number of abilities and accessories.
This comes alongside a new “Ascension” Trailer for the game which was also uploaded today.
Final Fantasy XVI will launch for the PlayStation 5 on the 22nd of June 2023.
