Square Enix has revealed the release date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the highly anticipated second title in the ongoing Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.
As revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is slated to release on 29 February 2024 exclusively for the PlayStation 5, living up to the initial Winter 2023 promise by Square Enix.
In the State of Play showcase, the release date announcement was accompanied by a lengthy trailer filled with reveals of characters, locations, and many other features.
Based on the trailer, Rebirth seems to pick off directly where Final Fantasy VII Remake ended, following Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and Red XIII heading towards the small town of Kalm.
The trailer also revealed many familiar faces from the original game such as Vincent Valentine and Cait Sith, while also showcasing some of the locations like Kalm, Junon, and The Golden Saucer.
According to the trailer, the game will feature Chocobo racing, Cloud’s advanced motorbike, and the iconic bio-mechanical Weapon Bosses, as well as a segment where Cloud parties up with his rival, Sephiroth.

Alongside the reveal of the release date, Square Enix has also unveiled the various physical and digital editions that will be available for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and it will be as follows:

Square Enix will also be launching value packs that combine Rebirth with the previous entry, available at a value price to those who pre-order by 28 February 2024.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade game included in the twin pack can be downloaded and played immediately after pre-ordering.
Pre-Order Bonuses
In addition to the various editions of the game, players who pre-ordered Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will also receive in-game items as purchase bonuses.
Players who pre-ordered the Physical editions of the game will be eligible to receive a Posh Chocobo Summoning Materia, Armor: Shinra Bangle Mk. II, and Armour: Midgar Bangle Mk. II.
On the other hand, fans who pre-ordered the Digital versions of the game will receive the aforementioned Armor: Shinra Bangle Mk. II, and Armour: Midgar Bangle Mk. II, as well as the Moogle Trio Summoning Materia.
The pre-order bonuses DLC redemption is only available until the 31st of December, 2030.
Bonus for Playing the Previous Game
Additionally, fans who own save data from the previous titles will be eligible to receive the following special offer.
If players have save data from Final Fantasy VII Remake, they will receive the bonus item, Leviathan Summoning Materia, while the game is in progress by loading the save data from “Bonuses” in the main menu of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The save data for the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake is also eligible, but data must be present on the PlayStation 5.
For players who have the save data for Final Fantasy VII Remake: Episode INTERmission from Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, they can receive Ramuh Summoning Materia as a bonus item, redeemable by loading the save from “Bonuses” in the main menu of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will release exclusively on the PlayStation 5 on 29 February 2024 and will require 2 discs.
