Naoki Hamaguchi, the director for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has said that an expansion of the ‘Queen’s Blood’ minigame is a possibility.
In a recent interview by Redbull, the director revealed that the team is considering further expansions for ‘Queen’s Blood’ as a possibility. With them citing positive feedback on the minigame from the community.
“There are 145 cards in total. We haven’t decided anything in terms of future development for Queen’s Blood,” Naoki Hamaguchi said.” But so far, the media who played it have provided very positive feedback on it, so we want to consider further expansions as a possibility.”
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a game filled with a plethora of content, not only in its main storyline but also in its side content, with minigames being pretty common in the game.
With Queen’s Blood being among the favorite minigames in the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Square Enix doubling down on the minigame and releasing a complete expansion. They might even make it a physical tabletop card game with the potential it holds.
But as the director said, they are still considering further expansions, so no Queen’s Blood expansion confirmation is going on just yet.
In our Final Fantasy VII Rebirth review, we called the game “Retelling a Classic with a Golden Grandiose Performance”.
We also describe the game as “The wonders of exploration in a vast open world, an emotional and tense storyline, and upbeat engaging battles – all superbly wrapped in a masterpiece soundtrack, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is truly Square Enix’s magnum opus, one that elevates the original in many wonderful ways.”
