The announcement was made in a surprise post on the official Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Twitter/X, noting that Square Enix has expanded the distribution area to SEA and East Asia.
The game was initially launched on September 7, 2023, for Android and iOS devices and is a gacha game that reimagines and retells stories from Final Fantasy VII, as well as any side stories including Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and even the film Advent Children.
Director Tetsuya Nomura would described the game as an alternate remake of Final Fantasy VII, existing alongside Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
A Windows PC release via Steam followed in the same year, on December 7, but both launches sadly excluded the aforementioned countries above as the game was region-locked.
Now Southeast Asian and East Asian Final Fantasy VII fans can finally download and play the game on their mobile devices via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Currently, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is also celebrating its half-anniversary with 7-week-long in-game events, featuring special banners, weapon level uncap, Double Summon Quests, event stories, and more.
