Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will be collaborating with the Monster Hunter series, bringing in weapons and armor from the Capcom franchise for Cloud and his friends to fashion after.

In the trailer showcased, protagonist Cloud Strife is shown going up against Rathalos, the wyvern that is like Pikachu is to the Monster Hunter series, the big flagship of the entire franchise.
This means that players, or in this case hunters, will be having a boss battle against Rathalos in a new location that is literally named Arena from Monster Hunter World.
Cloud is seen in a new drip that mixes his general SOLDIER aesthetic with bits and pieces of the iconic Glavenus armor set first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations while wielding the Scorching Blazer, a.k.a. Glavenus Greatsword.
The trailer also shows Cloud performing the True Charged Slash, one of the most potent attacks for the Greatsword weapon type in Monster Hunter.
Aside from Cloud, Zack Fair also gets his fair share of screentime in the trailer, spotting a fit that combines his usual attire with elements of Zinogre – the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and the one that captured the hearts of players with its thundering roar and won the popularity contest as the number 1 most popular monster of the series.
For his weapon, Zack wields a comically oversized and redesigned sword of the Usurper’s Lightning Charge Blade.
While not shown in the trailer, the livestream did showcase what other characters would look like in Monster Hunter’s wardrobe.
Most predictably, everyone’s favorite Tifa will be wearing the Kirin High Rank armor set. Since Monster Hunter has no gauntlet-style weapon class, Tifa would instead wear gloves with Kirin horns protruding from them, for some stabby action.
Meanwhile, Aerith will wear a slightly modified garment based on the Channeler and Medium set that the Wyverian twins Hinoa and Minoto wear in Monster Hunter Rise.
Aerith’s staff is also fashion after the aesthetic of the Kamura Village in Monster Hunter Rise, with the top part inspired by the Kamura Chorus Hunting Horn weapon.
Cait Sith and his moogle also got some fashion upgrades with outfits inspired by the Kamura Village gears for the Palico and Palamute buddies in Monster Hunter Rise.
Apart from sweet outfits, Square Enix also announced that during the crossover event period, players can get 3,000 Blue Crystals just by logging in every day.
Monster Hunter greatness aside, as mentioned, the livestream goes through development updates that will be coming to the mobile title. One such highlight is the Summer event that will be coming soon, with swimsuit attire revealed for Yuffie and Lucia.
Additionally, Vincent Valentine will also be joining the playable cast in the seventh chapter of an incoming update for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.
As mentioned, the epic crossover between Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and Monster Hunter is scheduled to start on May 30, 2024, at 7 PM (PDT).
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on iOS and Android devices, as well as PC via Steam.
