Final Fantasy VII Advent Children will be moseying on down to Netflix at the beginning of next month, July 2022.
The movie takes place two years after the events of the original Final Fantasy VII with Cloud being called back into action when he’s attacked by three mysterious white-haired brothers. The events of the movie will see him reunite with Tifa, Barett, and the other members of their original party and eventually take on Sephiroth once again.
It should be noted that at this time we do not know if Netflix will be streaming the original 2005 version of Advent Children or the directors cut style updated version called Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete which was released in 2009.
This new version adds 26 minutes of new material to the movie which further irons out the plot as well as higher quality visuals.
The Netflix press release we were sent only lists the title as ‘Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children’ which implies it’s the original but it’s always possible that it could actually be the complete version. I suppose we’ll find out in July.
We’ve recently seen a lot of news regarding Final Fantasy VII and all its spin-offs. It’s been announced that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is getting a remaster and the second part of the Remake Trilogy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be arriving in 2023.
