Bad news for fans of the Final Fantasy Tactics series, as the series creator shoots down the rumours of the series getting a remastered version.
In a recent tweet on Twitter, a user had directly tweeted at the series creator Yasumi Matsuno, asking for an update to the progression system of the Ultima spell.
To which, Matsuno replied by saying that there are no current plans of a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, followed up with a line saying “Also, you have to convey your request to SQEX (Square Enix), not me. Thank you for your understanding.”

Fans had been hoping for a remastered version of Final Fantasy Tactics, as rumours circulated back in 2021 from a big Nvidia leak, but judging by Matsuno’s comments, the case is good as closed.
Yasumi Matsuno had left Square Enix back in 2005, but he has still been involved with several Final Fantasy content, such as being in charge of two Final Fantasy XIV questlines, as well as being the game designer and scenario writer for Tactics Ogre: Reborn.
While fans won’t be getting that Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, there’s still other games that fans can potentially check out to scratch that SRPG itch, such as Triangle Strategy, and the aforementioned Tactics Ogre: Reborn.
