The previously announced Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster has gotten a July release, as revealed in a now privated presentation video. The series will be available for PC through Steam, iOS and Android. The Pixel Remaster series is planned to release in order from July onwards, consisting of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI. The six titles have had their pixel art characters be fully remastered by pixel artist Kazuko Shibuya from Square Enix, who worked on the Final Fantasy series from the very beginning.
The collection was initially teased at Square Enix Presents Summer, part of E3 2021. Some of these games have already gotten 3D remake versions, so those who would prefer the original presentation can opt for these instead. Going off Gematsu, the presentation did not seem to mention if the people who have already gotten said 3D remakes would be able to get the pixel remasters at no additional cost.
No price points appear to have been announced either, so fans will need to stay tuned for official announcements as we head into July.
