Final Fantasy 7 will be getting two mobile games, one of which being Ever Crisis. The other is The First Soldier, as reported on here. The reveal trailer is captioned as follows:
It’s a chapter-structured single player game covering the whole of the FFVII timeline – including the events of the original game and the FFVII compilation titles.
As the blurb says, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis will feature the entire compilation of the Final Fantasy 7 verse, “and more”. This includes:
- Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children
- Before Crisis
- Crisis Core
- Dirge of Cerberus
The game will be made available for both iOS and Android sometime 2022, so still a ways to go. Have a quick look at some shots from the trailer below.
It uses a combination of the familiar lower poly models, and the higher quality models you see from Remake. The art style has also been shifted for the sprites. It’s not exactly clear whether it’s a traditional turn based RPG, or it’ll swap genres according to the title. There’s a peek at Zack, but as it’s only a cinematic, we can’t tell how that will pan out.
In any case, this will be a very convenient way to get into the extended universe of Final Fantasy 7, so we’ll see how it turns out.
