Bandai has announced the latest Figure Rise Standard model kit based off of the Ultraman manga, with a kit based on Ultraman Taro.
Specifically, this kit is based on the Ultraman Suit Ver Taro, worn by Kotaro Higashi as a means of containing his explosive power. It joins the Action Ver sub-line of the Ultraman model kits, which feature more posability and joints for more dynamic displays.
The Figure Rise Standard Ultraman Ver Taro model kit will be available from April 2022, and you’ll be able to buy it for 3520 yen (RM128.58).
It includes multiple flame effects, including the very cool flame effect that works with the kit’s eye light-piping to make it really look like its on fire.
Naturally it also includes an action base, so you can display Taro in a variety of poses alongside the other kits in the line.
The Ultraman Suits are from the Ultraman manga, which are suits worn like power armor by various characters all based off of various Ultraman characters like Ultra Seven, and Ultraman Taro.
The manga continues to gain popularity, with the Netflix series based off of it coming out some time next year. It will likely feature the same arc that first introduces Taro, as well as another Ultraman, Jack, considering they’re both in the teaser trailer for the next season.
Meanwhile the characters continue to appear in various crossovers, joining Super Robot Wars 30 as DLC.
