Fate Grand/Order (FGO) has finally buckled to fan demands, implementing a pity system so there would be an upper cap on spending before you got limited units.
It should be pointed out that currently, this pity system is only available for the Japanese client of the game. There’s no word on it coming to the US version just yet, though presumably that will be announced at a later date if it’s happening.
The FGO Pity system caps out at 330 pulls, wherein after that you’re guaranteed to get the featured unit on a given banner. For example, if they’re having an event featuring a new Astolfo unit, no matter how bad your RNG you’ll manage to get the new character at 330 pulls.
Just like any other pity system, though, getting the SSR early will reset the pity counter. Unlike Genshin Impact, you also won’t be able to carry over pity progress across banners- so if a new banner rolls around and you were at 320 pulls previously, you won’t be guaranteed a limited banner servant on your next 10 pull once the banner rolls over.
Fans have long wanted a pity system to come to FGO- since other gacha games started introducing them, they’ve long been an unwritten standard of goodwill to players, since they wouldn’t have to blow too much money before getting the prized units they want.
