The Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis closed beta test has been delayed, alongside its release date. The official announcement comes with a new trailer that you can see below:
“We’re excited to reveal the latest trailer for “Ever Crisis”. Regarding the Closed Beta Test, it will be postponed until next Summer. We are working hard to make the game even better than expected, so please stay tuned for more updates in the future.” – Tetsuya Nomura
The 25th anniversary livestream for Final Fantasy VII originally announced the Ever Crisis closed beta and release for sometime 2022, which we now know has been delayed. The official website has likewise updated to reflect the Summer 2023 closed beta test, which will be limited to specific platforms and regions.
The game employs a blend of 3D chibi sprite art, the more realistic models they’ve been using for most of VII‘s extended universe, and 2D sprite art. Ever Crisis is meant to compile the VII-verse including Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus.
In the mean time, there will still be more Final Fantasy VII for fans to enjoy with Crisis Core Reunion. We have an interview with its producer, Mariko Sato, and Creative Director and Character Designer, Tetsuya Nomura here, for you to learn more about its production.
