TYPE-MOON and Aniplex has announced that the original Fate/stay night visual novel is getting a remastered version with official English language support.
Announced during the latest TYPE-MOON Times livestream, this marks the first time that Fate/stay night visual novel will be officially localised in English and Simplified Chinese, and be released outside of Japan.
The announcement of the Remastered version coincides with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original Fate/stay night visual novel released on PC in Japan on 30th January, 2004.
Fate/stay night Remastered will be released for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam sometime in 2024, with no exact release date being announced as of time of writing.
However, an official Twitter account and website have been created for the remastered version of the visual novel, where more details regarding its upcoming release can be viewed.
This Remastered version of the game will be based on the Realta Nua all ages version which was released for the PlayStation Vita back in 2012, which has slight alterations compared to the original game and comes with an extra section titled “Last Episode”.
The original Visual Novel had also inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation from Studio Deen back in 2006, as well as anime adaptations of the Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven’s Feel story routes.
