Via the Fate Project New Year TV 2022, a new fate game has been announced titled Fate/Samurai Remnant along with the release of a teaser trailer.
Fate/Samurai Remnant is set to release in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game is developed by KOEI TECMO and will be supervised by TYPE-MOON.
Not much has been shown about the game, let alone the plot but from the teaser trailer, it seems a brand-new Holy Grail War has begun set in the Edo period.
While the identity of the two main characters were not revealed, we did get a glimpse of Miyamoto Musashi, Fate’s gender bent version of the legendary swordsman at the end of the teaser. She first debuted in Fate/Grand Order and was the main character during the Shimousa arc.
A little fun fact, the Miyamoto Musashi that appeared in FGO actually has the ability to jump between dimensions and the FGO universe was not her first. Whether her appearance in Samurai Remnant is part of her dimension hopping or actually her original world is still up in the air.
To recap, Fate/Samurai Remnant is an action RPG developed by KOEI TECMO releasing worldwide in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game will be available in English, Japanese and Chinese subtitles.
