For those of you who are not familiar with Fate/EXTRA, the story is set in a virtual reality world created by the Moon Cell Automaton, a supercomputer on the moon. In this digital environment, a Holy Grail War takes place, where Masters summon Servants—heroic spirits from history, mythology, and legend—to fight for the Holy Grail, which grants any wish.
The remake features updated graphics with modern visuals, reworked character models, and improved environments. The gameplay is also being revamped to fit contemporary standards while retaining the core elements of the original.
Players can choose from 3 servants which are popular characters: Saber (Nero), Archer (Emiya) and Caster (Tamamo No Mae). There are also many others that appeared in the Fate/EXTRA Record sneak peek trailer but there is no information on their playability yet.
While we’re on the topic of Fate, Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works will have a collaboration scheduled to launch in 2025 as announced in the latest livestream for version 2.4.
