Fate fans can rejoice as Type-MOON BB have released new footage of Fate/Extra Record, featuring everyone’s favorite Caster.
The trailer shows off Tamamo-No-Mae, the Caster based on the Japanese legendary figure of the same name. While it wasn’t particularly revelatory in its new information, fans of the Fate Servant got to see the character in the remake’s new art style, as well as a tease of her Noble Phantasm.
In the original Fate/Extra RPG , players could choose between one of three servants. These were the unnamed Archer from Fate/Stay Night, as well as two new servants who’d become the faces of the Fate/Extra sub-franchise: Nero Claudius Caesar (Saber), as well as Tamamo-No-Mae (Caster).
Fate/Extra (also sometimes translated as Fate/Extella) is one of the most popular branches of the Fate franchise, holding a lot of fan praise. The announcement of Record was generally met with a lot of warm response, as the PSP game would be coming to modern consoles, although what consoles that was hasn’t been specified yet.
Aside from the RPG, Fate/Extra also has a sequel in Fate/Extella Link, the Dynasty Warriors-style action RPG. It also got an anime adaptation in Fate/Extra: Last Encore, which followed the story as if the player character had summoned Nero Caesar instead.
Fate/Extra Record does not currently have a confirmed release date.
