Koei Tecmo has announced the new release date for Fatal Frame Maiden of Blackwater, the re release of the previously WiiU exclusive entry in the Fatal Frame series.
Fatal Frame Maiden of Blackwater will release on October 28th 2021 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, as well as their next gen counterparts.
The game was first announced during Nintendo’s E3 presentation, though no release date was given. Aside from having reworked controls to not need the WiiU Gamepad, it also features new additions such as costumes and, ironically enough, a photo mode.
Koei Tecmo also put out an overview trailer for the game, introducing you to the three protagonists and their reasons for being on Mt. Hikami, a place where peoeple supposedly go to die in the water. It also shows off the aforementioned new features for the game.
The Fatal Frame series are a line of horror games, all revolving around an item called the Camera Obscura. This camera can be used to damage ghosts, by snapping photos of their faces.
Previously, Koei Tecmo had also announced a Fatal Frame Pachinko machine, showing that there was some interest in the old horror IP that first launched on the PS2.
