Alchemy Stars, the beloved strategy RPG, will officially shut down its global servers on January 24, 2025, as confirmed via the game’s official X page. This announcement comes shortly after news of the closure of its Chinese servers, also set for the same date. To ensure that players can still experience the game’s content after the official shutdown, the developers have announced the release of a Special Edition.

However, before fans get too excited, the Special Edition will be an offline version with more limited features. Players are advised to retain their game data before the servers shut down to ensure their account information transitions smoothly to the offline version. While this is a commendable effort to preserve the game’s legacy, the offline version will likely offer reduced functionality, restricting access to non-interactive elements like artwork rather than the full gameplay experience.
Alchemy Stars is a strategic RPG that blends tactical grid-based gameplay with a roster of over 80 playable characters, each representing unique factions. Players strategically position units on the grid, leveraging their elemental abilities to dominate the battlefield. Upon its release, the game stood out in the mobile gacha market with its distinctive mechanics and, in my opinion, top-notch character designs that set it apart from the competition.
If you’re eager to experience Alchemy Stars before the servers close, you can still play it on Android, iOS, and PC via DMM Games. For the latest updates, be sure to check out their official website here.
