Post-apocalyptic adventure game FAR: Lone Sails is coming to Android and iOS. The award-winning game was previously a PC release and will release this Thursday. It’s also the debut game of Swiss studio Okomotive.
Unlike many mobile titles, FAR: Lone Sails will be a premium title. It will be USD3.99 on the App Store, or its regional equivalents.
The game has you controlling a landship, making your way across a barren world. Along your travels, you’ll see the remains of civilisations.
It’s not all chill though, as you’ll have to maintain your vehicle. You’ll also need to upgrade it to cross the former seabed’s many hazards and roadblocks.
Your vehicle even gets sails, allowing it to be pushed along by the winds. Combined with the game’s gorgeous backgrounds, it’s a very atmospheric adventure.
It’s not all roadtrips, though, as the game’s trailer shows you having to talk outside of your vehicle. Additionally, they also show a segment with your character pulling the vehicle forward.
One of the most unique features this game does is its promise of a zombie-free apocalypse. You’re never actually in any danger in this game. Not from anything living, anyways. Instead, the entirety of the game is your journey forwards, with only the decay of your vehicle threatening your progress.
