Far Cry 3 Executive Producer Dan Hay is leaving Ubisoft, VGC reports, following over a ten year tenure at the company.
Dan Hay has served as the Executive Producer for the Far Cry series for his entire tenure at Ubisoft, even acting as the Creative Director for Far Cry 5.
No specific reason was given for Hay’s departure from the company, and he hasn’t announced what his next moves are just yet.
In the meantime, Ubisoft has appointed Sandra Warren to lead the team.
“Dan has been the Executive Director of Far Cry and has developed an incredible multi-disciplined team to produce what has become one of the most popular games in Ubisoft’s history”, a Ubisoft spokesperson tells VGC.
“While Dan has not announced where his path is taking him, we are confident that it will offer him the new challenges and experiences he seeks and deserves. We thank Dan for his many contributions over the years and wish him all the best for the future”, they said.
Far Cry 3 is Ubisoft’s highest-rated title, having a big effect on later Far Cry titles as well. 3 was the same title to introduce Vaas, the charismatic antagonist that would later set the template for other Far Crys to focus on their villains in the game’s marketing such as with Anton Castillo in Far Cry 6.
