Following the closure of Borderlands Online, China-based game developer and publisher Shanda Games announced it has gotten the rights to work on a new Western IP. For this round, Shanda Games will be working to release Fallout Shelter Online, a mobile online game based on the single-player Fallout Shelter which Bethesda Softworks has released previously. Fallout Shelter Online will first be made available for gamers in China, with availability for other regions unknown at this point in time.
According to reports, most of the Fallout Shelter features are retained in this version, with the addition of instanced dungeons, characters collection, PVP modes, and Guild vs Guild content. To put it simply, the gameplay of Fallout Shelter Online will be better fleshed out and given more depth, even if the art direction has been made to look a lot cheerier. No screenshots were disclosed, nor any information on a release date was provided.
