Nihon Falcom is set to release a new, unannounced PlayStation 5 port in Japan in 2025, according to the company’s latest investor presentation via Nikkei. According to Gematsu, this announcement comes alongside the confirmation of several highly anticipated titles, including Ys X: Proud Nordics, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and the Nintendo Switch version of Ys: Memories of Celceta.
The unannounced PS5 port is part of a busy release schedule that also includes updates on the development of multiple Ys and Trails series titles. Falcom is gearing up for the release of Ys X: Proud Nordics, an enhanced re-release of Ys X: Nordics, with new content, as well as the long-awaited Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, scheduled for a worldwide release in Fall 2025.
Falcom’s current lineup also features Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana for PS4, PS5, and Switch, due for a worldwide release on January 7, 2025, and Tokyo Xanadu New Project, an upcoming title from the studio. Additional unannounced projects in the Ys and Trails franchises are also in the works, adding further excitement for fans of Falcom.
The studio aims to increase its annual output from two to three new titles to four or five within the next two years. Despite not revealing further details about the unannounced PS5 port or other upcoming games, the announcement solidifies Falcom’s plans to continue expanding its iconic franchises and cater to the growing demand from both domestic and international markets.
