First Encounter Assault Recon, popularly known as F.E.A.R. was the horror game of our time back in 2005 for the PC. The horror FPS game had turned heads and now they’re turning more heads around with a planned movie adaptation by Warner Bros. Digital Networks’ Machinima! These are the creators of the live-action gaming series such as Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Mortal Kombat: Legacy.
It was also revealed that this is a part of a development deal with famous screenwriter Greg Russo. He’s also currently writing a cinematic reboot of Mortal Kombat for New Line Cinemas and even Resident Evil for Screen Gems. The F.E.A.R. movie will be a live-action adaptation which is one of Russo’s favorite game.
“As a lifelong gamer, it’s an absolute honor to partner with Machinima, the preeminent provider of digital content to gamers worldwide,” said Russo. “F.E.A.R. holds a special place in my heart. I’m excited to bring my personal passion to this and future projects and can’t wait to see where our partnership goes from here.”
It is still unknown how much is the budget of the movie nor when can we expect the movie to be out. We have also yet to know who will be the cast for the movie. For now we can only expect more information in the coming weeks as they prepare and finalize the script of the movie.
