American football manga Eyeshield 21 is getting a new one-shot chapter next month, as part of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Announced as part of the celebrations for protagonist Sena Kobayakawa’s birthday, the one shot will be 55 pages long, and will feature a color spread.
The chapter will be available in the January 29th edition of Weekly Shonen Jump, though there’s been no mention if that includes an English translation via MangaPLUS.
Not much else has been revealed of the chapter, such as if it will take place after the ending of the manga or be an in-between side story.
Interestingly enough while this is the first formal announcement of the chapter, it’s been alluded to before- artist Yusuke Murata posted a short of a teaser titled BRAIN X BRAVE, saying that he would be working on a one shot to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Eyeshield 21.
At the time, Murata said he would have a completed version of the teaser up when more details were provided on the oneshot.
“As soon as the location and date of the reading announcement are confirmed, we will post another completed version of the announcement animation.”, he says.
