Fans of the Demon Slayer series can start their journey together with the cast in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition happening now in Pavilion Bukit Jalil. The event runs daily from from 18 February to 18 May 2023.
The Start of A Journey
Right off the bat, you’ll encounter the nice looking Demon Slayer uniform with Nichirin Sword replica when you enter the exhibition so you know it’s off to a good start.
Accompanying this is a panel that gives you a short introduction of the Demon Slayer Corps. If there’s any parts of the series that you’ve forgotten then this is sure to refresh your memory.
The Demon Slayer Headquarters
As you enter the Demon Slayer Headquarters, you’ll get to see panels featuring the main characters of series; Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Giyuu and Shinobu. They also come with replicas of the Nichirin Sword each of them used and honestly, I really wanted to a close up look of Inosuke’s jagged sword and I was not disappointed.
In the same headquarters, they’ve also included lots of anime draft sketches along with its completed scenes to give you a better look of what goes behind the series’ superb animations.
Of course, what is the Demon Slayer Headquarters without its famed Hashiras. All of them are featured in the form of Wall Scrolls along with a big screen with a video of them introducing themselves. Just having their details written on those scrolls makes me feel the era the series is set in. It’s really amazing.
Another major highlight of the headquarts in this screen they have that is even bigger than the introduction ones. On this screen, they showcase all the iconic breathing techniques in the series and even the fights at Mount Natagumo that took place at the end of Season 1.
The Place of Madness, The Infinity Castle
Moving onwards into the House of Demons, we are introduced to the antagonists of the series. The Twelve Kizuki showing themselves menacingly in the Infinity Castle. Much like the Hashiras, their profiles are all shown in the form of Wall Scrolls. I might have just stood there for quite a while reading these out being the massive nerd I am.
If you’ve watched the series, you would know how the Infinity Castle works. The moving walls and the platforms are so eerie and looks almost endless that it truly deserves the name. Well, the exhibition has an area dedicated to showing a mechanism of the castle and seeing it in real life just doubles the ominous feeling of the place.
The Flames Go On in The Mugen Train
To those who cannot still move on from the Mugen Train arc, well you are in luck. There is a section featuring the train itself and there’s even an area where you can sit with standees of the fight set around the train. I would have loved it if they put a big screen and showcase scenes from the arc like every other section. However, I understand their choice since we definitely do not want anyone breaking down from seeing our beloved Flame Hashira.
What the Demon Slayers Do For Fun
The Exhibition is not just all panels and videos, we also have mini-games to play from your smartphone by scanning their QR codes. I won’t spoil the fun but I can tell you that I almost felt addicted to it. Almost. Nevertheless, simply follow their rules and once you’ve completed these games, you get a nice limited certification from the Demon Slayer Corps as reward.
Eating Together with the Demon Slayer Corps
What is an exhibition without a mini-cafe for you to get refreshment and rest your feet. The menu here consists of character-themed drinks, Freeze Cookie Sandwich and Ice creams. The drinks comes with a mini decoration featuring the illustration of the characters and this includes each of their packaging as well.
What’s really cool here is that the special illustration on the packaging features Tanjiro and the gang wearing traditional clothes and places from Malaysia. Never in my entire life would I have thought of seeing Tanjiro in a Baju Melayu of all things.
Wallet Breathing Technique: 1st Form, Merchandise
For those craving for Demon Slayer merchandise, then this Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration exhibition is the place you should go to. Be it keychains, standees, bags, you name it. Every single item you can name is purchasable here.
This is also the only place that you can get the merchandise featuring the Malaysian themed illustration so don’t miss out on it. Out of all the exhibitions, this is where I spend the most. Both time and money. Especially money.
Thoughts on The Exhibition
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition is a very fun experience to attend especially for Demon Slayer fans. In fact, even those not knowing much of the series can still enjoy it with how much information and cool illustrations you can get from here. I personally think that there is no other excitement you can get from having your favourite series getting a special event on your country and attending it yourself.
